I am going to Greece with my girlfriend. I have more time than she does so I plan on flying to the Balkan 2 weeks earlier, around May 23rd, and then traveling by land to meet her in Athens. I bought the LP Southern Europe book, though it is not as informative as I would like about bus times. I like to play it by ear when traveling and I find bus more flexible than train. From the LP it looks like I might not need bus reservations since it will not be the peak season. I was looking for…

Hi there, I'm a Mexican playwright traveling to Croatia in July looking for a place to write and get inspired. I would like to escape the crowds, have a feel of the culture and soak up some sun while having a dip in the adriatic waters.

I'm thinking Korčula, but I'm sure you guys can help me come up with some other options. What would you recommend?

Hi everyone,

I would need your advise to choose which island to stay.

My fiancée and I are planning our honeymoon in early September. We plan to drive along the coast, from Poreč to Dubrovnik in 10 days. Besides major sites like Zadar and Split, we hope we could spend some time on islands.

Considering that it would be $$$ and not relaxed if we hop among Cres, Brač, and other islands, we would like to stay on one of them for few days and have fun. We love snorkeling, diving, SUP, kayaks, and…

Hello everyone.

We are planning a trip to Croatia this August (14 days, not including travel days to and from home) and are thinking about skipping Dubrovnik and spending more time in the north of Croatia, in Istria, Zagreb and the northern interior of Croatia, which looks just beautiful, including seeing Plitvice National Park and spending a few days in one of the northern Croatian islands.

It is a long drive down to the southern tip to see Dubrovnik (over 600 km) and although it does look…

I am planning to spend the month of August in the Dalmatian Coast. I need to leave the Schengen zone to stretch out my 90 days and have very fond memories of Croatia from past visits in 2003 and 2004. Back then when you got off the ferry at any location, women would approach you to offer rooms in their private homes. These were a great deal economically and you enjoyed the warmth of being part of a family. Does this practice still exist, especially in August?

We will be in Split during May for a week. We fly in late (10.30pm ish) and were wondering if a bus will run into town or if it's better just to stay near the airport and head straight to an island the next morning. We'd probably like to see Split, Hvar and somewhere else a bit quieter, maybe with a sandy beach for a bit of chill. It's probably going to be 2 days for each place as well as the first night when we arrive.
Any suggestions for some island chill, not too tricky to get to and…

We will be traveling to Prague and Hungry this September and have four or five days at the end of our trip. We want to go to some beaches and relax. Nightlife is not important, beauty and a great community vibe is. We also would probably like to explore just one area and not go, go, go. Any suggestions?

Good morning. I am coming to Croatia for my honeymoon for about 10 days at the end of July/beginning of August. We have booked our time in Dubrovnik but would like some advice as our best course of travel to Istria. Here are the ideas I have come up with and would love any advice as to which would be best for this time of year in regards to height of tourist season. We prefer the attraction of beaches/sights over clubs following Dubrovnik. Also, do we need 2 nights in Split or is 1 enough to…

Hi! My fiance and I are going to spend 6-7 days in Croatia as a part of our extended honeymoon. We arrive in Zagreb at 8am and then have 6 full days to see Croatia. We must make it to Dubrovnik on day 6 to fly out to Athens. I am looking for some help in what to do and see for the 6 days we spend in Croatia. Any specific islands or beaches we should check out. Is there any sailing between islands that we can book within that timeframe? And what is the best way to get to Dubrovnik?

All…
