Hi, I might be trying to get into Cote D'Ivoire from either Guinea or Liberia in around 8 months. Does anybody know if these land borders are open?
It's possible to get to the airport from Treichville/Marcory/Koumasi or Grand Bassam for 650 CFA.
1. Take a woro woro (shared taxi van) from Gare de Bassam Treichville or the gare near the Freeman hotel coming from Abidjan, or likewise coming from Bassam (500 CFA).
2. Get off at the commissariat/eglise methodiste in Gonzague. Coming from Bassam, this will be right after you pass the airport. Coming from Abidjan, it will be right before.

Hi all, I've just been offered a job teaching at the International University in Grand Bassam (10 months) and am trying to find out more information about
- living conditions / everyday life
- safety concerns (for single female)
- health facilities/access (in Grand Bassam or Abidjan)
I've also been trying to learn more about gender equality/issues in Ivory Coast, but haven't found much information.
Has anyone been there recently? Lived there? And has input?
Thanks so much!…
A friend of mine has a job opportunity in Abidjan and is interested about the expat life there. He has two teenage kids. They all speak French at various levels. Any comments about safety and a schools appreciated.
I am planning a trip for 4 weeks from late July starting and ending in Accra but with some of the time in CDI. It seems Ghana doesn't allow multiple entry visas if you've not been to Ghana once or twice in the past year!! And with CDI seeming to need a personal visit to the embassy in London to get a visa at all, it seems I won't be able to make it. Can anyone see if I've got this wrong? I'm hoping so!
Thanks for your help if you can!
I'm currently considering adding Cote d'Ivoire or Cameroon to my West African itinerary (Ghana-Togo-Benin)

I think both countries have fairly good sights. Is there anyone having travelled to the two countries…
