50 minutes ago, the Ivorian Minister of Health gave a press conference (https://www.facebook.com/Mslsci/videos/674569459375418/ )
The borders with Liberia & Guinea are OPEN!!!
Kira (with a massive smile on my face!)
my friends and I are going to travel in October by car from Senegal - Guinea - Cote d'Ivoire to Ghana. I am wondering if anyone could advise me of the current safety situatiuon in Cote d'Ivoire. We are not planing to spend much time in big cities or turist places since we are more keen on the wildlife and rural areas.
In particular, I would like to learn more about places or regions that are not considered safe or recommended not to go to. How is the safety situation there now?
Early October I will be overlanding Cote d'ivory from Ghana.
I would like to know how difficult is. I have visa but I do not like brives and undesirable situations with the police.
Does anyone have any experience at this border?
I would also like to know a local person to show me around Abiyan.
Thanks in advance :)
A friend and I would like to hire a driver/guide for ~5 days to take us around Côte d'Ivoire. Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced person who speaks decent English? Thank you.
I've heard that the border with Guinea is still closed. I'm just wondering if anyone knows if there are any plans to re-open it? Is it closed both ways or can I travel from Cote d'Ivoire to Guinea?
I'm planning to go there in early November.
Thanks for any info.
Hi - I'm a Canadian citizen living in Canada (Vancouver) and am planning to go to CDI for tourism. Options for getting a visa seem to be (i) get one in advance through the CDI embassy in Ottawa, and (ii) apply for an eVisa which I can pick up at the airporton arriving in Abidjan.
The problem with option (i) is that - apparently - I have to appear in person at the embassy. Ottawa is not exactly a quick trip from Vancouver so that's not a viable solution.
I don't really want to fly in to Abidjan…
I've applied on behalf of a colleague for an Evisa to the Ivory Coast - this was our only option due to lack of time. I want to make sure I am going through the process correctly. Do I just enroll on Snedai, make the payment, receive the first email and wait for the 2nd email to come through? I'm assuming fingerprinting will happen at the airport in Abidjan?
I have a friend who is in (excuse the spelling)Yamoussukro and needs to get to an embassy in Abijan (spelling sorry ). he was mugged and cannot afford the trip and local police aren't helping.
Does anyone have any suggestions for what he can do or is anyone travelling between the two?
Very saddened to hear of the recent attack in Cote D'Ivoire - yet still resolute to visit.
I can't seem to find any real budget options in Abidjan or Grand Bassam? Does anyone have any leads? What is a good area to stay in Abidjan?
