Buenos Aires Getting there & around

Getting there & away

Besides the buses listed here, many buses travel between Palmar Norte, San Vito, San Isidro and San José without stopping in Buenos Aires. You can flag them down as they pass on the Interamericana. There is no marked bus shelter, so be sure that you are visible so the bus driver knows to stop for you.

The following buses (except San Isidro) leave from the mercado, west of Parque Central:

Boruca US$1.75, 1½ hours, depart at noon and 3:30pm, returns the following morning.

San Isidro US$1.50, one hour, depart from the Gafeso terminal, diagonally opposite the mercado at 5:30am, 6am, 6:30am, 7:30am, 8am, 10am, 11am, 12:15pm, 2pm, 2:45pm and 5pm.

San José (Tracopa) US$5, four hours, buses from Neily stop here around 6:15am, 9:15am and 4:30pm.
