Hi all, I went to Costa Rica last December for New Year's, surfed in Jaco, whitewater rafted in the Pacuare, and hot spring'ed it up in La Fortuna. Hope this photoblog and video helps your planning!

We booked a vacation in Costa Rica during Christmas but now my husband is worried to go there due to the situation.
What do you recommend? Is it advisable to go there in these conditions during Christmas?
I'm looking to book a trip to Costa Rico in Feb for 6 days and 7 nights.... I cannot figure out where I want to stay. My first choice seems to be Puerto Viejo, however are there day trips to the Rio Celeste waterfall or is that too far? I really would like maybe two days of adventure. Is my trip too short to split it between coasts? I would prefer not to, but if it is feasible financially and time wise I am willing to if it ensures that I get to see waterfalls and zipline.
We're travelling to Costa Rica in 2 weeks and everything is booked however we heard the rainy season started early this year and checked forecast which says 80-100% thunderstorms all day every day while we're there.
Should we reschedule and exchange flights for a sunny location? We have to pay fees of course but all day rain for 6 days would be miserable.
Anyone have experience going in June? Is it poss to have any nice days?
I'm planning my first solo travel experience and I decided on Costa Rica for my destination. Will be traveling the second week of August and staying for 7-8 days. Haven't done much planning yet other than flying into San Jose and going from there. Any and all tips would be greatly appreciated! I'm extremely adventurous and love all things outdoorsy. Where should I sightsee? Any suggestions for hikes, notable architecture to visit, restaurants/cafes, etc.
Delta cancelled one of my flights tomorrow to San Jose so instead of arriving early afternoon and renting a car and leaving for Ojochal, I now arrive late evening and need to stay in San Jose overnight. Does anyone have a good, inexpensive suggestion for a hotel near the airport to stay one night? Thanks!
Mount Turrialba is continuing to erupt today, spewing ash clouds which are reaching three to four kilometers into the sky. The volcano, located about 40 miles outside of San Jose, has been erupting on and off throughout May.
Hi, I am considering visiting Costa Rica in the summer. The plan would be to spend more time on the Atlantic side. Is it too hot? Is it really not the time to go, what are your thoughts?
I always suspected this especially after they were involved with an attempted robbery of pygmy sloths from Panama to be put in a zoo in the U.S
