I'm trying to rent a 4x4 for 4 people in Golfito and drop it in Dominical. I can find 2 options:
1. Rioja Renta Car (looks like a small operation).
Does anyone know anything good or bad about Rioja?
The Solid rental web site allows a different drop-off location, but says "Please coordinate with us at the counter." Is this an added fee? Any ideas?
Advice needed...3 Friends and I will be traveling to Costa Rica in early March. Most of our stay is already booked in at a vacation home in Puerto Viejo, Playa Cocles. We have 7 nights booked at the house, so I'm looking for advice what day trips we need to do out of Puerto Viejo. Waterfalls, hikes, snorkeling, culture...anything that is a must see!
I am more concerned about what we should do with our first 2 days upon arrival. We get in to San Jose about mid day and my initial thought was…
I'll be arriving in San Jose on the 2nd of March and need to go to Tamarindo for the 3rd. I would like to take buses as I assume those are most economical. Any advice on taking a bus to Tamarindo from San Jose? Do they run often? What bus station would I go to? Would I have to stop in Liberia and then change?
Hey everyone! My girlfriend and I are planning a trip to Costa Rica in Sept of 2015 and need some help. I'm 30, she's 25. I've been all over the Caribbean but never to CR, she's never left the U.S., and most importantly it's our first vacation together to celebrate our 2 year anniversary. We're trying to find a great all-inclusive deal as I love to eat and drink without worry of $ on vacation and our budget is $2,000 each, MAX! I'm a dive instructor so id love to get some diving in on the trip…

My family will be spending around 4 weeks in Costa Rica this March/April as part of an 11-week trip to Central America. We have three kids, ages 13, 11, and 7. We are active outdoor people and looking for a good range of what the country has to offer: rain/cloud forests, volcanos, beaches, adventure tours, etc.
I've been reading a lot and am a little overwhelmed at how many amazing-sounding destinations there are. We don't want to be constantly on the move, so I want to narrow it…
I was going to tack on to two other older threads to request more recent info but they were locked by a moderator for some reason. also, i originally sent this post to all of central america instead of just costa rica and couldn't edit it to change the country so in effect this a repost. sorry.
i get into SJO around 6AM at the end of jan.. if i want to take a bus to malpais / santa teresa, it appears i have two options 1) go to the bus station downtown and catch the bus (6AM and 2PM options)…
They have the same exact packages as other tour companies but they will tack on an extra discount (e.g. desafio/anywherecostarica have the tour for $70, somehow puravidaeh offers it for $60) and I'm trying to figure out if it's legit or if there is a catch.
Has anyone ever heard of this company or know how it works? Why are they able to offer cheaper packages than other…
