Introducing Northern Golfo Dulce
While the eastern shore of the Golfo Dulce is less celebrated than the Península de Osa, it offers a surprisingly similar landscape. Indeed, the rich rain forest within the Parque Nacional Piedras Blancas used to be part of Corcovado and still protects the same amazing biodiversity. The breathtakingly beautiful beaches on the northern Golfo Dulce are accessible only by boat – making them even more isolated and perhaps more intriguing than their Osa counterparts. And while Golfito lacks the charm of Puerto Jiménez, it evokes the rise and fall of the banana industry, which took place right around here.
