vejo safety

Older couple, staying cahuita then considering vejo for a couple of nights . We have a car. Is it better to stay in Cahuita...if indeed Cahuita safer...seems a lot of people saying Vejo is unsafe.

Hi there

I've done a bit of reading and am really keen to do the 3 day hike in Corcovada (Puerto Jimenez - Los Patos Ranger Station - Sirena Ranger Station - La Leona - Carate). I haven't found much information on costs, but saw someone's post saying they paid $500 for 2 people. This is a probably a bit more than I'll be willing to pay alone for 3 days so ideally would like to share this or look at the alternative of going to Drake Bay. Not definite yet but will probably arrive in Puerto…

I am starting to plan my first trip to Central America and I just have a quick question regarding buses.. My flight would land at SJO at 4pm.. is it still possible to get to Arenal/La Fortuna by public bus? Is it possible to reserve bus tickets beforehand?

Thank you for your input ! :)

Hi

I'm supposed to be flying to Costa Rica on Tuesday from Bogota. I've been reading that I may get asked for my yellow fever certificate (that I don't currently have). My flight is in two legs and I connect in Panama, if I re-check in at Panama will I be exempt from needing my yellow fever or will they know I've only been there for a few hours? I could try and get the vaccination in Bogota tomorrow and I've read some clinics will backdate it for you (for a fee) does anyone know how easy it is…

My group is staying in Tamarindo for a week in July. Yes I know... lol

I want to try and make the best of it... what are the best ideas for day trips to get out of town and into a bit of nature? I don't need reasons why we shouldn't stay there if we want nature, it's not my idea of a great trip, I'm just along for the ride and this is what the group (wives) decided. lol

What are the best options for hikes, zip lines, anything... that will get us out of town to see something else? We…

Hello Travellers, my wife and I and two friends are looking to go to Costa Rica, hopefully the Nicoya Peninsula area for a few weeks (up to four) in the above months. We are having challenges finding accommodation on the eastern shore area of the peninsula. We think we want to go there as the waters will be more sheltered and better for snorkelling than on the western shore exposed to the Pacific wave action. Any suggestions? Are the waters in the inside of the peninsula a good snorkeling…

Hi all,

Me and my partner are heading to Costa Rica for 3 weeks mid May. We've a rough idea of the places we want to visit and have a budget of $3000 for the both of us for the time (with spare money if needed but i'd like to stick to $3000 if we can) . I've got plenty of guide books etc and have read through similar posts but the thing I want advice on is if anyone has done a similar route or could suggest something different.

Were planning on staying in Hostels and using public transport, if…

Does anyone know if this bus line still runs as of March 2017? I see several posts discussing this bus costing 14$ and running, however they are several years old and it seems according to Lonely Planet that it is no longer running. If not, any good alternatives to take a bus to get to Bocas?
