Lonely Planet review

A 300-acre working dairy finca surrounded by lush forest, 3.5km or so out on the road toward Reserva Santa Elena. It's a unique sleep that offer guests a typically Costa Rican rural experience. Kids love this place, which is teeming with cattle, horses, pigs and sheep. Each of the six rustic, wooden rooms sleeps up to four and has a private hot shower; a few free-standing casitas, fitted with kitchenette, are available for those who crave more privacy. Horseback riding tours (per person US$30) can be arranged, and you can try your hand at milking cows and making cheese at the organic dairy. It serves dinner for $7 per person, but doesn't provide lunch. Two-night minimum.
