Hi All,

My husband and I are traveling to CR on December 31st. At the time I purchased our airline tickets the only thing I could think about was the tremendous deal we were getting. When I finally started looking at hotels and hostels I realized that we are getting in at an IMPOSSIBLE time - at 11:50 p.m on NYE!

Because of that, I booked a room at the Courtyard by Marriott near SJO (in case we couldn't find a taxi and had to walk from the airport) for the first two nights.

We also have a…

Hello. I am currently planning a trip to Costa Rica for this January. My husband and I traveled there about 10 years ago before we had kids. Our children are now 5 and 7 years old and we think they are ready for their first international trip. Last time we rented a 4WD and drove ourselves. The plan is to do the same again. We really enjoyed the flexibility having our own vehicle gave us. Hopefully, we won't regret that decision when both kids start squabbling in the back seat. We will be…

Hi there
I am going to CR for 2 weeks in November 7-21st :-)
Now trying to narrow down where I want to go!
We are 2 girls in our thirties and are looking for wildlife, some activities and then beach time with surfing.
The following have been recommended to me...
Tortuguero
Corcovado (have heard it may be too wet/mucky in Nov and also out of the way so maybe best do it another time?)
Montezuma and St Teresa
Arenal (or maybe Monteverde)

Would anyone have recommendations on this and also what would be…

Hi

I would really appreciate some help with our itinerary. I am aware there are many itinerary posts on the TT forum, but having read them plus the LP and Rough guide, this has made it even more difficult. The problem I have is that we have 19 full days in Costa Rica and the places I want to visit accumulate to a lot more than that. The more I read, the more I want to see :)

We will travel in December, the busiest time of year unfortunately. Some issues/questions:
- renting a car for the full…

Hello and thank you all ahead of time.
My daughter (2yrs. old) and I will be traveling to Costa Rica in January for two weeks and then to Panama for another two weeks (maybe one). I am very much so wanting to budget and make my dollar stretch reasonably while away for the month. I am looking for a cultural city, with tourist attracted (but not extremely popular), english speaking, transportation, near nature/animals and lastly all-inclusivemost importantly!

I also need a city to travel to in…

HI TTers!

I have narrowed down the first couple of months of our Central America trip and am down to the final leg– Costa Rica and Panama. Unfortunately I have left hubby and I less time than I would have liked in these two countries – I am thinking we have about two weeks.

Our interests for these countries be seeing the wildlife and biodiversity CR in particular is famous for - the jungles, wildlife plus taking in some of outdoor activities- hiking, kayaking, swimming, etc. Panama will mostly…

Although not so exciting because Nature Air already covers those routes but the part about the new Air Costa Rica kind of looked like it might lower fares somewhat.

Hi there,

I am wondering if it is worth to go to Boca Tapada as it seems to be hard to get there. Is it a must see or can Cano Negro be a good alternative? And if Boca Tapada is a must see can I get there from Puerto Viejo de Talamanca in a day by public transport?

Any answers are much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
