We are heading to Rincon and Tenorio before Arenal. Plan to hike Rincon as well as Tenorio (waterfall). Does it make sense to stay one night near Rincon and then one night near Bijagua? We want to do zip line or canopying or horseback as well for one day. Also wondering whether to spend two nights in one area. Would like to have eating options for dinner. After this we spend two nights near la Fortuna.
would it be better to start visiting Panama before visiting the neighbor country Costa Rica or it does not matter?
which country would need approximately more time to see? I know that visiting a country is individual but which one would require more time. Would you recommend a central cheap and safe hostel in San Jose for me to start my travel journey? Thanks a lot.
Looking for a place to stay that is not all resorty and expensive but not a campsite. bringing my wife and 3.5 yo son for a day of exploring. we need food, water, cozy bed and transport to and from the park. any advice is welcome.
I will be staying in San Jose, Costa Rica in early March next year. Can anyone provide advice on what activities I can do at that time? What places should I visit? Also, I am interested in studying Spanish while there. Where can I go?
Me and 2 friends are planning a trip to Costa Rica in late April, early May next year.
I have been doing quite a bit of reading and have a guide book on the way to help with working out some of the finer details of our trip. I have put together a rough itinerary and wondered if some of you could run a eye over it and add or remove some destinations. Or just give me a well needed reality check if I'm trying to cram in to much.
1: Arrive San Antonio (9:15pm) stay in Alajuela for 1 night.
Thanks in advance for any help with this!!!
From what Ive read it sounds like driving / ferry is the best option.
So we will drive from samara to Puntarenas to catch the ferry. How long will this take and is pan am / armitage bridge way best?
Then ferry from puntarenas to paquera which is an hour ish?
Then drive from paquera to Santa Teresa.
Any comments will be really appreciated x
My fiancé Kevin and I are getting married at the end of next August and have our hearts set on Costa Rica as a honeymoon destination.

As it's going to be August/September it seems the Caribbean coast will be drier- am I right in thinking this?
Kevin and I are adventurous types, and he's a marine biologist so any good diving spots would be…
