Buses from Cañas (US$0.50, 45 minutes) depart at 9:30am and 2:15pm. There are no buses to the Ecomuseo, but a taxi will cost you about US$4, one way.

Drivers can take the turnoff from the Interamericana, 27km south of Cañas at Irma’s Restaurant (662 0348; mains US$2-5; 7am-9pm) a locally popular eatery where you can flag down buses between Liberia and San José. Monteverde is 30km from Las Juntas on a rough dirt road, though it’s passable to normal cars in the dry season.
