I will be in CR in Mid March for 9 days. I have been twice before, traveling to the Nicoya penninsula staying in Mal Pais- I loved the Surf Camp and the surfer vibe there though I don't Surf. Have stayed in Samara, it was a little Oasis, cool place to relax and get to know the locals a bit . My last trip I stayed on Playa Grande which was just a wonderful as Samara. I have traveled to Monteverde and Arenal areas.

What I am looking for:
Cool laid back beach vibe, possibly visit 2-3 places if…

Does anyone know where I can purchase Nicorette gum in Costa Rica? A local pharmacist here told me there is no Nicorette in Costa Rica. But I found an article on the net stating Costa Rica will allow the sale of Nicorette very soon. The article was six months old. So I assumed Nicorette would be available at stores in Costa Rica now. That is not the case. So if anyone knows where I can find Nicorette in Costa Rica I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

I just booked a flight to San Jose leaving Friday and am scrambling to get ready. I just need some recommendations for low low budget... if that even exists in Costa Rica

I need to start out on a beach where I can swim and snorkel and lay in my hammock for about 5 days (unwind time). if there's some climbing even better. The pacific side seems too rough & more for surfing, but I may be wrong. Then I can head into the mountains to begin some hiking and trekking. A friend mentioned Nosara…

¡Hola a todos!

I just bought a plane ticket for a trip to Costa Rica right before and the week after Easter (Friday, March 25 - Saturday, April 2). I have some transportation and itinerary questions that I'd love some feedback/suggestions for.

Transportation/Easter: Will I run into problems with public transportation that first weekend (with Easter being Sunday March 27)? I get into SJO just before noon on Friday March 25 and plan on getting over to the Caribe ASAP - being a solo female…

zika virus

I have a trip booked to go to Puerto Viejo in Two weeks from canada. I am in my first trimester and I have heard a lot of bad things about the zika virus. There was one case reported in Costa Rica that was brought in from Colombia. Is there more cases in Costa Rica? I think Im going to cancel my trip and not take the chance of getting the virus.

Hi Everyone!

I'm currently living in Tamarindo and I'm brand new to the area.
My parents (who are close to 70), sister and her 6-month year old baby will be staying with me for a week.

Does anybody have any nice recommendations given mobility restraints?
Thanks!

Sharmaine

After reading this recommendation, I went there for a quick lunch (May 2015).
The place looked pretty kitsch, the view from the balcony was nothing special and there was a lot of racket as they were testing the speakers (apparently there was a party arranged later that evening). Mind you, I wasn't the only customer but they totally ignored us.

I ordered a burger with chips only to realise that there was a fried cockroach served along with the food! I pointed out that to the clueless waitress and…
