Hey guys.

Ive been backpacking Costa Rica for the last 6 weeks, been moving around lots and pretty busy. Im stationed in San Isidro El General for a month now...

I'm doing three weeks of Spanish lessons at SEPA School but also want to explore the surrounding areas and I'm going to hike to the summit of Chirripo at some point. If anyone is in the area and fancies hanging out or is interested in doing the climb together, let me know!

Peace,
Rich.

Hi-

I am looking to spend 8/9 days going from San Jose to Tortuguera to Puerto Viejo to Bocas del Toro then back to San Jose. Can anyone recommend the best way to get to each location? I have seen that you can take a raft to some of these spots. Does this itinerary allow that?

Thanks!

My family and I are planning to spend between 6 and 8 weeks in Costa Rica this coming January. We are homeschooling our children so this is not entirely a vacation. Our plan is rent a house or apartment somewhere for about one month and then spend two to four weeks traveling Chile. My primary objective at this point is to try to determine the best place for us to rent the house or apartment for the month. We want to all go to a Spanish language school during this time. Of course, San Juan…

Heya everyone!

I need help with a particular question. I'm planning a last minute trip to Costa Rica but it's essential that I have access to a printer and internet access while I'm there. (I really only need it once so I can send a document once it's ready) If I have a USB drive or my laptop and I'm traveling through the country, where would I be able to get a print out of a document? Do internet cafes have printers? I'm assuming there are print shops as well? I will unlikely be staying…

Next June/ July my wife, my two kids (6 and 8), and I planned to spend 45 days in Costa Rica. Now I'm beginning to think that we should spend at least some of that time in Nicaragua as well. Anyone have opinions about this? If we do go to Nicaragua, where should we go? I haven't researched it at all, so all I know about is Granada, Leon, San Juan del Sur, and the islands in the lake. I'm leaning toward a month in CR and two weeks in Nicaragua. Thanks.

What's the best/quickest way to get to the Caribbean coast? We'll be flying into Liberia and everything we've been reading says Caribbean side is nicer.

Costa Rica Trip report: 6/29/2015-7/18/2015 (San Jose- Tortuguero- La Fortuna- Volcan Tenorio- Playa Samara- San Jose) (Family of four, kids 5 & 8) (intermediate Spanish skills)

6/29-7/1:
Delayed flight on American led to an evening in Miami, Fl and arrival 1 day late in San Jose. Rented a Toyota Rav 4 from Alamo for $1400 for our first two weeks. Was pleased with that experience. Trapp family Inn in Alajuela didn't have room the day we arrived, but recommended hotel Robledal just down the…

First of all, I just want to thank all of you who have invested your time in answering the myriad questions on this site. I've been reading as many posts as possible over the last few days to try to come up with a worthy itinerary that will allow my family and I to see the touristy and the not so touristy sides of Costa Rica. We'll be going next June/ July for anywhere from 30 to 45 days, and I've tried to include places on the Pacific side (Uvita, Jaco, Samara, Guiones, Tamarindo, Brasilito)…

Hi,

My name is Mimi and I live in California.
This may sound weird but I am giving it a shot to see who is willing to go along with me and see if it may work. So I was just in San Jose Costa Rica a few weeks ago, and there is something that I saw in San Jose that I regret not buying to bring back with me to US. Now I am wondering if there is a chance I meet someone on here in San Jose, CR who can work with me on this adventure. Sounds silly i know. But in this souvenir small mercado like place…

Hi,

I am a male, solo traveller, visiting Costa Rica for 10 nights in August (8-18), and I am trying to decide whether I should include Puerto Viejo or Montezuma in this trip. After flying in, I will be going to La Fortuna/ Arenal area and then to Monteverde, and after that I would have four days (including travel times: so really it will be only two full days) which I intend to spend at a beach town. After some preliminary research, I am looking to choose between the two alternatives above.
