Land

Bus

All buses arrive and depart from the main terminal in the center of town. Buy tickets for San José well in advance at the Transportes Morales ticket office (777 0263; 7-11am & 1-5pm Mon-Sat, 7am-1pm Sun) at the bus station. Buses from Quepos depart for the following destinations:

Jacó US$1.50, 1½ hours, 4:30am, 7:30am, 10:30am and 3pm.

Puntarenas US$3, 3½ hours, departs 8am, 10:30am and 3:30pm.

San Isidro, via Dominical US$2, four hours, 5am and 1:30pm.

San José (Transportes Morales) US$4, four hours, 5am, 8am, 10am, noon, 2pm, 4pm and 7:30pm.

Uvita, via Dominical US$2.50, 4½ hours, 10am and 7pm.

Air

The airport is 5km out of town and taxis make the trip for US$3 to US$5 (depending on traffic). Sansa has six daily flights between San José and Quepos (one way/round-trip US$44/88), and NatureAir (US$50/95) has four. In Quepos, the office for Sansa (777 0683) is on the southwest corner of the soccer field, while NatureAir (777 2548) is on the 2nd floor above Iguana Tours.

Lynch Travel (777 1170; www.lynchtravel.com) can book charter flights to and from the Quepos area.

Flights are packed in the high season, so book (and pay) for your ticket well ahead of time and reconfirm often.
