Arenal volcano and hot springs

I'm planning to spend one day in La Fortuna and my original idea was to go to Arenal Volcano. Can I do that by public transport? I don't seem to find the right information about it. I would like to combine that with hot springs-. Any clue on how to find one for free? Tobacón is so expensive.

volcano's

End January I arrive at 10.am at San José airport. I am interested in an easy volcanotrip with viewing nice craterlake.I was thinking going to Alejuela and going to VOLCANO POAS next day and the day after with the bus to La Fortuna.
Can I see same craterlake there and skip Volcano Poas? I will travel from Costa Rica through Nicaragua and
El Salvador to Guatemale where I take after 6 weeks my flight back.
Where on this route can I easily (I am 70+) go to volcano's with view of crater lake?
Thanks…

The Most Recommended Dental Services in Costa Rica

Hey all. My father is considering going for a Dental Implants procedure in Costa Rica, but we know very little about how to find a reliable clinic and doctor.

Have you done any dental work in Costa Rrica? Any tips you can share about the clinic's and doctor's name, cost, duration of minimum stay for procedure/follow-up, etc. would be very helpful.

Thanks

Boat trip from Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui via Rio San Juan to Tortuguero Dec27 2014

We are getting a group of people together to charter a boat from Puerto Viejo de Sarapiqui to travel down the Sarapiqui River to the Rio San Juan then down that river to near Barra del Colorado before turning south into the canal leading to Tortuguero on Dec27 2014. There are 4 of us that want to do the trip which takes 5 to 7 hours. The boat can hold 30 people and costs US$900. The date is not flexible and we would aim to leave in the morning to ensure the whole trip is in daylight. Earlier…

Public bus from Liberia airport to Playa Flamingo?

Hi all,
I've done a bit of research and have found that there is a public bus that leaves from the bus station in Liberia that goes to Playa Flamingo. What I am wondering is if this bus passes close to the airport on the way, and if so, where would I catch it? I would rather not have to go into town if I don't need to. Thanks in advance :)

Recommendations for beaches: 30 Dec - 5 jan

Hello everyone,

My partner and I will be in San José on Dec 30, looking to get to a week of nice beach-life before we're leaving the country on Jan 7, from Libería airport.

Problem is that since we're so last minute on booking, the places we had in mind from start (Santa Teresa and Mal País mainly) do not seem to have a single vacant room.

Questions that follow are then;
- Is it likely that Santa Teresa and surroundings are completely full? I.e. there is not point contacting hotels directly…

Getting from Liberia to Rincon de la Vieja

I understand that the day trip tours from Liberia are a good deal, but I wanted to spend a few nights either at Rincon de la Vieja hotel or Buena Vista. Their transfer services are very expensive, but so are car rentals. Any recommendation on cheap public or shuttle transport between Liberia and Rincon? Thanks.

Best place to stay on the pacific coast?

Hey everyone!

My boyfriend and I will be in Costa Rica in February next year. We are planning a three week trip and we have some places confirmed, yet. We will go from San José to Tortuguero, via boat to Puerto Viejo / Cahuita, back to San Jose to rent a car and than heading over to Monteverde. So far...so good.

After Monteverde we would like to see the pacific coast and I really have a problem to decide for one place over there. I heard from Tamarindo and Playa Grande as well as Montezuma and…

Single female in Costa Rica

I'm looking at spending a couple of weeks travelling around Costa Rica and maybe Panama when I finish a group tour throughout Central America. Just wondered how easy it is to get around and if there are any safety concerns beyond the usual? Also, of course recommendations on where to do will be gratefully received :)
