Introducing Dominical

With monster waves, a laid-back vibe and enough reefer to inspire a Snoop Dog song, Dominical is one of the most popular destinations on the Pacific coast for surfers, backpackers and do-nothings. Most travelers get stuck here for longer than they intended, though no one seems to care so long as the surf’s up and the spliff’s not out.

Difficult access has spared Dominical from the fate suffered by other beaches on the central Pacific coast. Development remains low-key, the few roads around the village are still dusty and pot-holed and the majority of the beach is fronted by forests not fast food. The town is definitely gringo-fied and growing slowly, though for the time-being it’s a great place to get stoked (or stoned).
