Getting there & away
The bus station is one block north of the border crossing, on the east side of the main drag. Buses to either San José or Puerto Limón all stop at Bribrí and Cahuita, but only some go through Puerto Viejo.
Puerto Limón US$3, three hours, depart at 5am, 7am, 8am, 10am, noon, 1pm, 4pm and 6pm.
San José US$9.50, five hours, depart at 6am, 8am, 10am and 3pm.
