Getting there & away
Grayline (262 3681; www.graylinecostarica.com) runs a daily bus departing at 11am to San José (US$27) and on to Arenal (US$38). Call for a reservation so the bus will pick you up at your hotel. All public buses arrive and depart from the terminal half a block southwest of Parque Central.
Bribrí/Sixaola US$1/2, 30 minutes/1½ hours, depart at 6:30am, 8:30am, 9:30am, 10:30am; 12:30pm, 1:30pm, 2:30pm, 3:30pm, 5:30pm, 6:30pm and 7:30pm.
Cahuita/Puerto Limón US$1/2, 30 minutes/1½ hours, depart every hour on the half-hour from 5:30am to 7:30pm.
Manzanillo US$1.50, 30 minutes, depart at 7:30am, 11:45am, 4:30pm and 7:30pm.
San José US$7.50, five hours, depart at 7am, 9am, 11am and 4pm.
