Hi all,

I am a female solo traveller planning a trip to Costa Rica, Panama and then south America in Jan 18 and wondered if the first leg of my trip in Costa Rica is realistic.

1) Am I spending enough time in each place?
2) Are the modes of transport between each area I have chosen affordable and relatively easy to organise? I do not mind necessary mind about journey time, as I can always stay longer in one area but ideally they need to be relatively cheap.

16/01/18 Arrive at 11:50am in San…

I have brought enough equipment ,am experienced enough, Possibly, for 3 days solo nature. But I find little regarding primitive camping in Costa Rica. I am here now in san jose environs, do not need a whole lot of company, but am in no way anti-social. Just desire a solo experience in higher elevations. I do not mind paying ranger fees of course,if needed. Thanks for any informed comments .

Hi Everyone

I've been trying to plan a trip over Christmas to Costa Rica. I realize it's going to be crowded and probably hard to avoid the craziness of all the tourists but if I could limit the crowds that would be great. We only have maybe 10 days 11 nights and want to include a beach towards the beginning and end of our trip. My top priority is seeing Arenal and maybe some national parks to do some hikes that we can do on our own. We will be travelling by local transportation…

Hi
We will be arriving in Costa Rica with no return flight booked. Plan is to travel overland to Panama and beyond.
Has anybody bought international bus tickets from 'bus tickets costa rica' web site (https://www.ticketbuscr.com/)?
Is the confirmation email received enough to get through imigration?

Thanks

Hello!

In July my boyfriend and I are finally heading to Costa Rica. We're so excited!
The first night we're spending in the capital, San José, close to the Parque Nacional.
Is there any option of getting from the international airport Juan Santamaria (SJO) to the Parque Nacional by public bus?

Kind regards
Super excited travellers

am in La Fortuna and about to go out to hike the 1968 Trail. I will spend tomorrow in the area as well, and after that not sure. I have to fly out of San Jose at 1:30 in the morning on June 17th and I'm looking for other things to do which would not involve tremendous travel. I have already been to tenorio and to Rincon De La Vieja, any ideas about good places to hit for the next week? I was considering cahuita, but it seems a bit convoluted and long to get there and then back to the airport. I…

Hey guys!

Myself and my travel companion are on a Latin American journey and will be in Costa Rica in late August for 5 days. We'll be flying into San Jose, but that's as far as we've gotten with our plans. AirBnB is usually our go to for lodging, so that's the least of our worries. Unfortunately I'm not sure where to start because there's just so much to see. Would love any and all suggestions on what to do with our 5 days in this amazing country! I'm personally fascinated by waterfalls, while…

Hello,

On the subject I have discussed a few things that I am interested in doing; Arenal Volcano, Hanging Bridges, and Tabacon Hot Springs. I see there are a lot of deals for these, do you recommend me booking the trip online to do a tour or is it cheaper to do it on my own. I will have a rental car with me and a friend to split prices?

Dear travellers,

I'm planning to ascent Cerro Chirripó, this has been on my bucket list for two years now. And I'm really looking forward to it. I want to do that in the end of July (which might not be perfect with regard to the weather..). I'm thinking of going up, staying in the basecamp for two nights and then return to the village of San Gerardo de Rivas again.

At that moment I think I will be traveling solo and I am wondering whether it is a good idea to climb that mountain alone. Does…

I am in Bijuagua at the moment. I am thinking of heading to cano negro. Can I arrange a boat to see the park in cano negro,or must I do it in Los chiles? About how much is a boat tour. Is kayak rental feasible? Also , I will have my gear with me as I am leaving Bijuagua. Any place to stash it when I get ont the boat.. Also any info on cheap lodging appreciated. Any info at all, actually, as I had not planned to visit canoes negros and so have little info and dodgy Internet. I wonder if it would…
