Me and 2 friends are planning a trip to Costa Rica in late April, early May next year.
I have been doing quite a bit of reading and have a guide book on the way to help with working out some of the finer details of our trip. I have put together a rough itinerary and wondered if some of you could run a eye over it and add or remove some destinations. Or just give me a well needed reality check if I'm trying to cram in to much.
1: Arrive San Antonio (9:15pm) stay in Alajuela for 1 night.
Thanks in advance for any help with this!!!
From what Ive read it sounds like driving / ferry is the best option.
So we will drive from samara to Puntarenas to catch the ferry. How long will this take and is pan am / armitage bridge way best?
Then ferry from puntarenas to paquera which is an hour ish?
Then drive from paquera to Santa Teresa.
Any comments will be really appreciated x
My fiancé Kevin and I are getting married at the end of next August and have our hearts set on Costa Rica as a honeymoon destination.
We're thinking about 10 days, but I've never planned a big holiday like this and am overwhelmed by the amount of things in the Internet and need some help!
As it's going to be August/September it seems the Caribbean coast will be drier- am I right in thinking this?
Kevin and I are adventurous types, and he's a marine biologist so any good diving spots would be…

Day 13-15: Driving to Puerto Viejo and celebrate christmas here.
Day 16-19: Driving to Drake and explore this corner of Costa…
Which bus station in San Jose does the Penas Blancas bus leave from?
I would be grateful if someone could enlighten me as my daughter has spent three hours trying to locate it.
Hi guys, my husband and I are planning our first trip to Costa Rica in March or April 2017 with a stay of around two weeks. The Caribbean Coast seems like a great fit for us! We prefer not to rent a car. What is your best travel advice to get to Puerto Viejo de Talamanca and further south? Any advice on what important things we should know when traveling in Costa Rica would be greatly appreciated. Salud!
Does anybody know if there is a shuttle from Tortuguero to Fortuna on Sundays? Or do I have to go back to S.J. first?
I just need a shuttle and not a package tour.
Any answer is appreciated.
My husband and I (US citizens) will be doing a housesit in Costa Rica and I originally miscalculated the number of days and it looks like we will be over our 90 days by three days. We will be leaving CR by plane to go back to the US. Searching online, most of the information I found was at least a year old and all of it referred to some new rule of 100 dollar per month of overstay, with nothing about daily fines, or any other information related to overstay. Does anyone have any experience…
Hey guys, I'm gonna go to Costa Rica at the beginning of December and gonna stay there for ca. 2 weeks. I want to get a little bit around and see some nice things, and I want to surf (I don't have a surfboard or a car). So maybe you can recommend me some nice beaches+surf shops to rent stuff and some hostels close to those. If you have some lodges nearby in mind, let me know, maybe there is something decent not to expensive for me :) Generally I'm up for everything, if you can recommend some…
