No bank in Ipiales changes cash or traveler's checks, but they're likely to give peso cash advances on credit cards. Several banks around Plaza La Pola, including Bancolombia, have ATMs.
Money changers on the Plaza La Pola (the main square) and a number of casas de cambio in the town's center will change US dollars, Colombian pesos and Ecuadorian sucres. There are also money changers at the border in Rumichaca.
