Lonely Planet review for Discovery
Perched on the edge of the northern foothills in the Las Palmas district, Discovery has amazing views, and even better food. The specialty is seafood – try the cazuela de mariscos al coco (seafood stew with coconut, COP$35,000), or the parrilla mixta (mixed grill, COP$36,000). There’s live music on Friday and Saturday night.

Vacant and no view

The restaurant is a trek up the eastern mountain range, and we arrived there on a saturday night to be the only ones in the entire restaurant. We were looking for a table with a view, and they offered to drag a table out onto a tiny balcony with a very nice view of the adjacent apartment building, where we would have been practically face to face with a family eating dinner on their own balcony. We left and went a few doors down to a Parilla place that had a great bustling atmosphere and way more options for food.
