Weather
Climate varies with the changing altitude. With an elevation of 2820m and an average temperature of 13°C, Tunja is the highest and coldest town in this region; the other extreme is Cúcuta, where hot, muggy weather is the norm and temperatures hover around 27°C. Mountain towns such as Pamplona, San Gil and Barichara are slightly cooler than lower-lying Bucaramanga.
