Lonely Planet review for Snack Bars
Plenty of snack bars all across the old town serve typical local snacks such as arepas de huevo (fried maize dough with an egg inside), dedos de queso (deep-fried cheese sticks), empanadas and buñuelos (deep-fried maize and cheese balls).

sweet life
carlasofia9 recommends this,
It's been a good three years since I've been to Cartagena de Indias and I still daydream about this magical city. I imagine going back and walking the beach or the cobble stone streets of the historic "Old City." I still can hear the horse drawn carriages clomping through the warm streets at night. But most of all, I dream of the juices. Colombia is a country with a array of exotic fruits: lulo, tomate de arbol, maracuya, mango, and guanabana. All of them organically honey-sweet and ripened by the caribbean sun. Along the shore, just outside the walls of the "Old City," you will find a group of juice stands. There you will find a variety of snacks, but you must order a fresh juice. You can choose your fruit of choice which right there before your eyes will be blended into a thick shake-light juice. Served in a tall glass large enough that two people could share, the juice shouldn't even be called juice, but rather nectar. Note that you will wish to drink slowly in order to savor every taste, but unfortunately you won't be able to stop.
