Cartagena is the only city in Colombia where you are likely to be propositioned (sometimes persistently) by street moneychangers offering fantastic rates. Don't be fooled. They are con artists and are very skilled at stealing your money. There are plenty of casas de cambio in the historic center, many of which are around Plaza de los Coches.
Banco Union Colombiano (660 1052; Av Venezuela; 8-11:45am & 2-4:30pm Mon-Fri)
Bancolombia (664 0401; Av Venezuela, Edificio Sur Americana; 8am-4:30pm Mon-Fri)
Davivienda(cnr Av Venezuela & Carrera 9) This downtown branch has the only ATM where you can extract up to 500, 000 pesos.
Giros & Finanzas (Av Venezuela No 8A-87) This casa de cambio in the old town represents Western Union.
