Lonely Planet review for Crepes & Waffles

This chain of restaurants serves, obviously, crepes and waffles, plus salads and a range of desserts. It's a professional operation with a good philosophy - they only hire single mothers and women in need.

    Crap & Waffles

    monita09 recommends this,

Although my title might give the impression that the food here is really bad, actually it isn't. We use it as a joke amongst our friends here. One needs to know what one is ordering and then actually the food is quite nice. Some of the salads they serve are a really nice change, because most restaurants in Colombia don't focus too much on the green side of a meal. The salads are big and tasty. Also, a number of crepes is very tasty and has ingredients which are not too common in the basic restaurants, things such as blue cheese, feta cheese, sun dried tomatoes.
Try to avoid the crepes which come swimming in sauce.

    5 Sense Flavours

    alexsfx recommends this,

One of the best restaurants in Bogota, Colombia
Not only the food, but the desserts like the arequipe ice cream, also very well known for the amazing exotic juices. Incredible prices for what they offer, friendly people, incredible atmosphere, where you can just sit and drink a coffee or two for hours , being it just you, with your friends or with your entire family. It is just an amazing place to try out, different flavors, different spices, different colours, incredible music and an amazing touch of art while you enjoy your meal.

    Great ice cream!

    pasc01 recommends this,

Crepes is definitely an institution in Bogota. I've lived here for 3 years and I will regularly surprise myself wanting to go for lunch at Crepes. Not only the crepes are "a la vedette" but the salad bar is a great and cheap alternative for the vegetarians! I personally always get one of their delicious salads on their menu. Try the Thai one! Amazing! A must!

    Crepes & Waffles

    fallen4music recommends this,

Crepes & Waffles is a great low to medium budget, sort of fastfood- sort of restaurant. The menu has a LOT of things to offer, including, crepes, salads, pitas ( a type of pizza like bread with toping on top), soups, and the all famous "Pane Cook" (which is a large round bread without the inner dough, and filled with your choice of meal and sauce, for example curry calamari).

They also have a huge dessert menu, including, crepes, waffles, ice creams (the best ice cream in Bogota, with a lot of flavors which you won't find anywhere else), mini waffles, and even special ice creams for children (shaped like mickey mouse and the sort).

The food is GREAT, and I live in Bogota so I've been there a LOt of times, the one thing that really isn't good at all is the service, it's pretty slow and sometimes the waitresses can be very rude. so if you can overlook that, crepes and waffles its a ggreat place to go to.

When a traveller arrives to Bogota at the El Dorado Airport, takes the taxi cab and arrive to La Fontana Hotel, enjoy a good time to looks any sites in this city. So, the city have a lot of sites for dinner, I recommend Crepes and Waffles, the best , the creative, the high level five stars of restaurants. The ice cream have a delicious ingredients to enjoy this meal, no only one, also the panne cook is amazing meal to delight a bread with a delicious ingredients to eat. If you are the traveller with a hard critic of world cuisine, you don't have any repentance.

Go to National Park, the beautiful park, you can find a Crepes and Waffles, i recommend you a pita, is a healthy meal with nothing high calories. But if you have a girlfriend, this restaurant is the best.

Since a founding this restaurants, if you read the history of this restaurant, you can think the creative and the cleaning and presentation topics. The founders had a collection of creative ideas to get a excellent service of international cuisine, this restaurant was started in the Center of Bogota, and they was opened any countries sites.

    worth a visit....twice!

    rvijaywargiya recommends this,

awesome crepes, both sweet and savory; plenty of vegetarian options (ex: "gandhi" crepe - politically incorrect, but delicious); between $5-$15, depending on if you get icecream.

dessert menu one of the best i've ever seen and experienced; everything looks and tastes fanatastic.

wait-staff is cordial and will provide a menu in english upon request. nice ambience for brunch/lunch/casual dinner. the ciy's young and hip throng the place and there is usually a short wait to get a table.

    highly, highly recommended

    Very good franchise

    scagg recommends this,

It's a surprise that we don't see this restaurant in North America. The idea is good and the food is excellent. What's really interesting is that all the employees in all of the Crepes and Waffles are single moms.

    Crepes and Waffles

    jorgemack recommends this,

Crepes and Waffles is a unique chain of restaurant where you can enjoy a good atmosphere, excellent service and magnificent crepes and waffles for reasonable prices. This chain of restaurants started in 1980 when two young students opened a small restaurant in a remote area of Bogota. Two years later successfully spread throughout the city and became a restaurant for families and business people. Characterise for the decoration of Botero posters, a Colombian well known artist and for employing single mothers and women in need who will bring a female touch to the presentation and service, this fabulous restaurant is not only in various places in Bogota, but also in Cartagena, Cali, Medellin, Barranquilla and Bucaramanga in Colombia, Quito (Ecuador), Panama city (Panama), Caracas (Venezuela), Lima (Peru), Mexico city (Mexico), Madrid (Spain).

My suggestion, Ham and Cheese Crepe followed by Brasilia dessert (Various ice creams and Chantilly cream) and Coffee, tea or wine. Enjoy the

    A Colombian gem

    cassiopeia22 recommends this,

Found throughout the country this chain of restaurants is loved by Colombians and ‘gringos’ alike. Offering consistently good food in well-designed restaurants, aside from the obvious crepes (both savory and sweet), waffles, calzones, soups and salads, one of the best things on the menu is the ice cream. Hand made, rich and very creamy, this is a real treat. Ask for the ice cream menu to discover their extensive range of desserts – but be warned these are best shared, as portion sizes are huge. Hot chocolates are also particularly good. Ideal for a quick meal and very good for large groups, this is how all chain restaurants should be.
