Lonely Planet review

A cute misfire at bringing French Art Deco to North Bogotá, Lancaster House is nevertheless a comfortable business base. Its location - off very busy Avenida 13 - isn't the best spot for sitting with your poetry pad, but the staff are great and all rooms come with kitchenettes if you like your oatmeal made just so.

A 1999 transformation of a mid-'90s apartment building, the seven-floor Lancaster is all suites. The junior suites have one bedroom, master suites have two. Things are pretty ordinary - mint walls, faintly Art Deco knock-off furnishings. All come with cable TV, Internet access and kitchens (fully stocked on request). Perks include a free breakfast buffet in the lobby restaurant - named Gatsby's naturally - and a small 7th-floor gym with glass ceiling. The bar isn't a bad spot to loiter and drink. Most guests are here for business, but you can't beat the price no matter why you're here.
