China Silk Museum information
Closed for renovation at the time of research, this fascinating museum previously housed excellent displays of silk samples, silk making techniques, a room of looms with workers, a textile conservation gallery where you could watch conservationists in action, a superb gallery devoted to silks from Dūnhuáng, silk embroideries and exhibitions on silkworm anatomy. It is expected to reopen in August 2016.
