Bright lights and big cities, rural retreats and water towns, bike riding and boat cruising, the Great Wall and giant pandas - this China Encompassed trip has all bases covered. From the sights of Hong Kong, Shanghai, Xi'an and Beijing to the simple beauty of Fenghuang and the Three Gorges, discover the history and culture of China. Meet the local people, dine on traditional cuisine and delve into a country just waiting to be explored.

Itinerary

Days 1-2 Hong Kong
A British colony until 1997, Hong Kong's cityscape is spectacular and its modern fast-paced life is only minutes from picturesque islands and beaches.
Days 3-4 Zhangjiajie
Set in one of China's most beautiful locations, Zhangjiajie is home to an amazing World Heritage-listed national park, which is filled with unique sky-rocketing pillars and twisting streams.
Days 5-6 Fenghuang
With green waters, ancient walls, stilted houses, and lantern-lit streets, Fenghuang (Phoenix Town) is a beautifully preserved ancient town guaranteed to enchant.
Days 7-10 Yangzi River
Located on the Yangzi River, Yichang is an important trading town and has been the site of many historic battles due to its strategic location. Named after the site of an ancient ferry crossing, the Yangzi River flows for 6,418 km and winds through a diverse range of China's landscapes.
Days 11-12 Chengdu
Chengdu has plenty of traditional flavour with its famous tea houses, numerous markets and as the home of Sichuan cuisine, known the world over for its spiciness.
Days 13-14 Shanghai
Blending 21st-century architecture with old-world character, Shanghai is the vibrant pulse of new China.
Day 16 Xitang
With nine rivers and alleys joined by old stone bridges, Xitang is a unique water town with narrow, maze-like streets, antique temples and atmospheric waterways.
Days 17-18 Xi'an
As the start of the ancient trading route the Silk Road and an imperial centre for 2,000 years, Xi'an has a fascinating history and rich cultural sites to discover.
Day 19 Great Wall
Head to this world wonder and spend a day ambling along the ancient stone pathways that make up the spectacular Great Wall of China.
Days 20-22 Beijing
Beijing has a long and colourful history and this rapidly modernising city is an amazing whirl of ancient sites, modern buildings, bicycles, people, shops and eateries.
