Itinerary
Days 1-2 Hong Kong
Journey to vibrant Hong Kong where the Grand China adventure begins. Hong Kong is a city of culture and glamour so why not shop up a storm at Temple Street and Stanley Market. Savour a dim sum brunch before checking out HK's many museums or taking a Victoria Harbour cruise.
Days 3-4 Yangshuo
Admire the green-topped limestone peaks towering majestically over the trickling Li River en route to picturesque Yangshuo. Tour through the local market before mastering traditional techniques in a cooking class.
Days 5-6 Chengdu
Learn about the effort to save pandas from extinction at the Giant Panda Breeding Research Base. Use free time to wander through colourful Chengdu attractions including lush gardens, temples and atmospheric teahouses.
Days 7-9 Yangzi River
Take a relaxing cruise down the legendary Yangzi River. Admire the dramatic scenery on a Three Gorges cruise and visit the dam in Yichang.
Days 10-11 Shanghai
From art deco to ultra-modern, discover the eclectic style of modern Shanghai. Visit the exquisite collection of Chinese artwork in the Shanghai Museum, saunter through the magnificent Yuyuan Gardens, discover Shanghai's legendary cuisine and be wowed by an amazing acrobatic performance.
Days 12-13 Hangzhou
Hop on a fast train to Hangzhou, a beautiful city that is renowned for its lakes, temples, tea and cuisine. Visit a local village to learn about tea production and enjoy a traditional Chinese banquet.
Days 14-17 Xi'an
Travel to Xi'an, one of China's Four Great Ancient Capitals. Walk amidst the vibrant Muslim Quarter and visit the incredible, life-sized Terracotta Warriors.
Days 18-21 Beijing
Delve into the chaotic hive of activity that exists in Beijing city. Wander Tiananmen Square, admire the Forbidden City and explore ancient hutongs on foot. Walk the Great Wall or take a cable car ride for a better view of this ancient feat of engineering. Conclude this grand tour of China with a sumptuous Peking duck feast.
