Frequent minibuses and buses to Tánggū (Y5) leave from the main train station, including bus 835 (Y4). In Tánggū, minibuses to Tiānjīn run from outside the train station. A light rail system runs between Zhongshanmen station in southeast Tiānjīn and Donghailu station in Tánggū (50 minutes, roughly every 15 minutes, first/last train 7am/7pm).

If travelling by sea, there are daily boats to Dàlián (Y167 to Y697, 13 to 16 hours), and a weekly ferry to Kōbe (from Y1875, 48 hours) and Incheon (Y888 to Y1590, 28 hours). Check in two hours before departure for international sailings.

Tickets can be purchased at the Passenger Ferry Terminal (Tiānjīngǎng Kèyùnzhàn; 2570 6728), but if you are in Tiānjīn buy in advance from the ticket office (shòupiàochù; 2339 2455; 1 Pukou Dao); for tickets to Incheon, go to Tianjin-Inchon International Passenger Co Ltd (2311 2843; 56 Changde Dao; 8.30am-5.30pm).
