Guǎngzhōu Opera House
Standing on the edge of a park, the biggest performance venue in southern China is stunning, with its futuristic panels knit together to form an other-worldly structure with subtle curves. A sweeping staircase and a ramp lead to its entrance. The Opera House has transformed the whole area with its surreal appearance, yet the ¥1300 million structure, constructed in five short years, is already suffering some disrepair.
