From Lúdìng there are daily buses to Chéngdū (Y92-98, six hours, 6.30am, 10am and 1pm) and Shímián (Y20, three hours, 6am and noon). Minibuses run regularly to Kāndìng (Y20) and Móxī (Y20).

A second route between Éméi Shān and Lúdìng, without doubling back to Chéngdū, runs via Wūsīhé to the south. There is usually one morning bus at 6am from Lúdìng to Wūsīhé (Y20) but if it doesn’t appear, jump on the bus to Shímián from where there is frequent onward transport. Once you reach Wūsīhé you’ll need to hop on a train to Éméi town. The train departs Wūsīhé in the afternoon, meaning you shouldn’t have to stay overnight here. If you’re headed south to Pānzhīhuā or Kūnmíng, be advised that you can only buy hard-seat tickets in Wūsīhé and very few onward trains stop here.
