This plush branch of the famous chain is a great place to sample mápó dòufu (small/large Y12/20) – soft, fresh bean curd with a fiery sauce of garlic, minced beef, salted soybean, chilli oil and Sìchuān pepper. It's one of Sìchuān's most famous dishes and this restaurant's speciality. Photo menu.

    Went to Chen Mapo Dou Fu-Mǎ Shì Diàn Branch (陈麻婆豆腐骡马市店), qīngyáng qū xi yùlóng jiē 197 hào (青羊区西玉龙街197号) and really enjoyed the authentic Sichuan food.

    The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and it was very clean, service could be better but was acceptable.

    The prices are good. We ordered 5 dishes and spend 115RMB, including drinks. We ordered their signature dish the Mapo tofu and also some other must try Sichuan dishes:

    - Gong bao Ji Ting (small pieces of chicken and peanuts)
    - Ji Si Liang Fen (cold starch jelly noodles with shredded chicken)
    - Zhang Cha Ya (tea smoked duck)
    - Yu Xiang Rou Si (fish flavored shredded pork)
