It has let itself go in recent years and is starting to look a bit rundown, but the location in the newly reconstructed Kuānzhǎi Xiàngzi (宽窄巷子) area is still excellent. The alleys around here are full of trendy restaurants, cafes and boutique shops, and while most of the buildings are no more than five years old, some, including Dragon Town's, date back to the Qing dynasty. The hostel's courtyard with fish pond remains atmospheric but in general a lick of paint wouldn't go astray.
