  1. A

    Little Face

Little Face is a daring fusion of what were once two separate restaurants (Lan Na Thai and Hazara). With other cuisines it could be a slightly schizophrenic experience, but the Thai-Indian combination works: you can pair samosas (Y40) with a green curry (Y75) or papaya salad (Y45) with Tandoori lamb kebabs (Y80) and flavours are mostly complementary. Ochre-coloured walls, candle-lit tables and a collection of Asian antiques set the scene for intimate dining. Stop off at the trendy 2nd-floor bar for drinks.

  2. B

    Coconut Paradise

Coconut Paradise is a tropical delight, its lush garden seating and dimly lit interior making for a decidedly romantic venue. Curries (Y68), fish salads and Chiang Mai soup will bring back memories of days spent lazing around in northern Thailand, and by the end of the meal on a good night, you might even forget you’re in Shànghǎi. No MSG. Reserve.

    Thai Taste

For a cheap meal in the Superbrand Mall, Thai Taste is a step above the rest of the food-court restaurants. Dishes such as tom kah gai (coconut, lemongrass and chicken soup) and green curry (Y20) may be small, but they are served with rice and carry enough chilli and lemongrass to bring back memories of sweaty meals in Thailand.
