El Willy
The unstoppable energy of colourful-sock-wearing Barcelona chef Willy fuels this restored 1920s villa, which ups its charms with a bold selection of ‘sexy wines’ and even ‘sexy mini pizzas’ (Y69). The temptations continue throughout the menu, from the creative tapas – red snapper, gazpacho and avocado (Y98) and foie gras, green apple and smoked eel (Y75) – to succulent main dishes such as black truffle and pumpkin creamy rice (Y185, serves two). Reserve.

Olé Spanish Restaurant & Wine Bar
Any Spaniard living in Hong Kong would point to this charismatic place as the best Spanish restaurant in town. Here the suckling pig ($255) is roasted to perfection. The angulas (baby eels) in hot garlicky oil ($575) conjure up memories of Spain. And where else would you see jaded gourmands weeping over a potato salad ($60) ?

Mare
The location – the ground floor of an office building – might be odd, but that doesn’t stop the CBD crowd flocking here for the 30 types of authentic tapas, including sizzling garlic prawns and salty cod, and top-notch paella.
