Tónglǐ Old Town
With its whitewashed houses, laundry hanging out to dry and unhurried canal scenes, the old town is best explored in a lazy meandering loop; bilingual signs guide the way, and maps ( 地图; dìtú ) are available at the ticket office, but getting lost is half the fun.

It’s definitely not for infant Tónglǐ visitors, but the highly recommended Chinese Sex Museum is Tónglǐ’s most famous sight and displays ritual sex objects, ancient sex toys and erotic carvings from as far back as 3000 BC.
