Three Gorges Dam construction has ended Wǔhàn’s wonderful reign as a river ferry stop-off, but you can still get to Chóngqìng by ferry. Wǔhàn has one of the best-connected train stations in the country. The east of the province is wonderfully easy to get around, but the rugged west is another matter.
