Lonely Planet review for Jade Market
The Jade Market, near the Gascoigne Rd overpass just west of Nathan Rd and split into two parts by the loop formed by Battery St, has some 400 stalls selling all varieties and grades of jade from inside two covered markets. Unless you really know your nephrite from your jadeite, or your quality stone from your dyed tat, it’s probably not wise to buy any expensive pieces here, but there are plenty of cheap and cheerful trinkets on offer as well. You can reach the market easily on foot from either the Jordan (exit A) or Yau Ma Tei (exit C) MTR stations. Bus 9 from the Star Ferry bus station will drop you off at the Kowloon Central Post Office at 405 Nathan Rd, which is just around the corner from the market.

Charming
mecmec recommends this,
I've been there recently, and it's truly an amazing place to take a walk, visit and enjoy, overall considering the neighbourhood, which is charming! Worth a visit. Bargaining is a must, as mixinlan4 said, and besides jade there's Chinese paraphernalia. Check it out at http://goo.gl/1Xely

Best place to buy beautiful wholesale pearls and stones.

Many jewellery stores source their products and have pieces made here before exporting them to other countries.
....And best of all, if they don't have what your looking for, just ask and they will make it up for you!

A Must See.

Just a great place to explore, take some great pictures, and pick up some souvenirs, or some jewelry. The people are very friendly and bargaining is pretty simple.

I spent a few hundred HKD at the Jade Market. Its pretty easy bargain with them for a great deal. I wasn't looking a quality jade, but interesting Hong Kong souvineirs. There is plenty of Buddhas, Elephants and dragons to choose from.
