Lonely Planet review for Life Cafe

Life is a vegetarian’s dream, serving organic vegan food and dishes free of gluten, wheat, onion and garlic. Delicious take-away salads from the deli counter cost $50 to $75, and the large one can feed a small family.

Decent but nothing to get excited about

    vulferius recommends this,

I should preface what I say by admitting that I didn't go there personally but food was brought to me from this establishment so I am not in any position to comment on their selection. What we had tended to be very hit and miss. Between three types of salad, one was inedible but the other two were delicious (a curried potato salad and a pasta salad). We also had two phylo-type sandwiches, both were okay but a little bland. Finally, we had a large slice apple bread that managed to be moist and crumbly all at the same time and apparently you can add any kind of sweetener to the list of things they don't use because it had no flavor and was so bland that after a bite or two we could stomach anymore. Food for two ended up being about $175 HKD.
