Sam Ka Tsuen Seafood Precinct
Lonely Planet review for Sam Ka Tsuen Seafood Precinct
The ‘village’ of Lei Yue Mun is one of Hong Kong’s prime seafood venues; around two-dozen fish restaurants line narrow, winding Lei Yue Mun Praya Rd overlooking the typhoon shelter. The area is a colourful and lively place to dine by the water at night and is always busy. To get here from the Yau Tong MTR station, use exit A2 and follow Cha Kwo Ling Rd and Shung Shun St south for 15 minutes or catch green minibus 24M from outside the station. Bus 14C links the Yau Tong Centre halfway down the hill with the Kwun Tong MTR station.

Too expensive for the dining experience
gdilieto does not recommend this,
The idea is intriguing indeed: a fisherman village overlooking the Harbour, a fish market with the catch of the day, a line up of restaurants ready to cook your buy on order. It is a pity to find out that the juicy fish which is being taken alive for you from the bowl at the market is easily costing you hundreds of HKDs and, added cooking fee from the restaurant, you will end up spending same amount or even more you would spend in a nice restaurant in the city for the same dinner. I have come to Lei Yue Mun once, it was fair enough but I would not come again. For a local, traditional seafood meal on a seafront restaurant, I would take the ferry and head to Lamma or Cheung Chau Island instead.
