Mak’s Noodle

Lonely Planet review for Mak’s Noodle
At this legendary shop, noodles are made the traditional way with a bamboo pole and served perched on a spoon placed over the bowl so they won’t go soggy. The beef brisket noodles are equally remarkable.

unfriendly staff, average food
lukasmergele does not recommend this,
After the Laudatio in the LP I asked several friends to visit this place with me. The staff was not very friendly and we were not allowed to put two tables together to unite the group even though the restaurant was empty (at prime time). Our common opinion was that the food is rather average. And the Wontons are really mini! Better explore other places in the surroundings.

Elbow to elbow with Hong Kong
dimitrihk recommends this,
Step into Mak's Noodles and you'll be instantly seated in the nearest available space by one of the eagle-eyed waiters. Forget the menu, just order the famous noodle soup with prawn won tons and soak up the atmosphere. Eating here epitomizes the spirit of Hong Kong and its food culture- it's simple, it's fast and you'll have to sit elbow to elbow with the locals to enjoy it!
