Lonely Planet review for Yung Kee Restaurant

The roast goose (from $120) here has been the talk of the town since 1942, and it’s not the only thing that justifies the Michelin star. According to an urban myth, a bowl of sweet red-bean soup here sells for $500 because it’s made with century-old orange peel prized for its medicinal value. But while the owner does own some vintage peel, none of it is likely to pop up in your bowl ($22). Dim sum is available from 2pm to 5pm Monday to Saturday, and 11am to 5pm Sunday.

    The Roast Goose is Legendary

    iwys recommends this,

Yung Kee Restaurant may not be much to look at from the outside, but its food is legendary in Hong Kong, and it has won numerous awards. The clientele are mostly local foodies.

Fortune Magazine named it as one of the top 15 restaurants in the world: the only Chinese restaurant to be included in the list. It has won Hong Kong Tatler's Best Restaurant in Hong Kong award nearly every year from 1988 onward.

The bird's nest soup, barbecued pork and braised frog are good; the roast goose is superb !
