Lonely Planet review for Punchline Comedy Club
A veteran on the scene – in fact the only regular comedy venue for many years – the Punchline Comedy Club hosts local and imported acts every third Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9pm to 11pm. Entry costs around $300.

Great standup with fab harbour views not to be missed
scrumpy2000 recommends this,
........we only just found out about this place when I went there on a hen night! We ate a great buffet outside with wonderful views of the harbour and then went inside and watched some hilarious comedians. There was an American and 2 others from England. Recommend you get in and get your seat early or you may end up in the front like we did!

A fantastic night out with lots of laugher in a fab setting!
HazelBlack recommends this,
A veteran of the Punchline Comedy Club, I go most months and have done for years. We are so lucky in HK to have comedians of such a high caliber coming here to entertain us. I would recommend it to anyone with a sense of humour that is not easily offended (it can be quite rude at times, so think twice about bringing your parents!). The outdoor dinner setting with amazing harbour views and the Indian curry & Italian buffet are great too. An all round fabulous niight out and well worth it.

A great night out!
brittishmike recommends this,
I thought I would miss Stand Up Comedy when I moved to HK from the UK, but I discovered the wonderful Punchline Comedy Club. Once a month my wife and friends enjoy 3-4 great comedians that are flown in especially! Great for a resident or a tourist! I was even told Michael McIntyre, Bill Bailey and Peter Kay are past performers who are all massive UK celebrities now! Well done Punchline!

Home away from Home... but other voices too!!
sanyacricketer recommends this,
The week I came, there was an Irish fella, a Scot and an Australian. I know that sounds like the set up to a bad joke, but let me tell you, there were none of those here. The comedy was non- stereotype bound. Surreal flights of fancy about being reborn as a chocolate machine component with sentience of its impending temperature related doom to, yessss, the inevitable cock jokes, this gig had gags to keep everyone laughing, from luddite engineers to closet bi-curious Georges. I'll come back and next time bring my Alka-Seltza.

Professional Stand-up from the London circuit.
hongkongpatriot recommends this,
Since the 90s Punchline has been bringing out to Hong Kong some top flight acts from the London circuit (and beyond). In the last 2 or 3 years I have personally seen Arj Barker, Ardal O'Hanlon and Bob Mills and I just mention them coz they're off the telly (Arj as 'Dave' in "Flight of the Conchords", Ardal as 'Dougal' in "Father Ted" and Bob Mills the star of visionary 90s cultural digest show, "In Bed with Me Dinner" -Get it?). The less well known (outside of comedy circles perhaps) comedians that grace the stage each month are no less accomplished (just less exposed). I noted with surprise when I rewatched Ricky Gervais and Steve Merchant's 'Extras" over the holiday (and he won't thank me for saying it) that the arresting James Dowdeswell who was on the bill in December 2011 is none other than "Count Fuckula" who makes a memorable if brief appearance in the David Bowie episode, so a sprinkle of stardust there just to indicate the pedigree of the acts producer John Moorhead books.
For around $300 (less if you avail yourself of the early bird discount), you're guaranteed 3 seasoned pros.Good for: comedy
