Tour description provided by Viator
Looking for a relaxing outdoor adventure in China? Travel by kayak down the Li River from Yangshuo, and connect with nature and the countryside. Paddle along the river with your skilled guide and enjoy stunning views of the towering karst mountains and dense bamboo forests; then discover rural, riverside life on a visit to the fishing village of Puyi. This small-group tour is limited to 15 people.
Meet your kayak guide in Yangshuo and board a shuttle for the drive to the old town of Fuli. After collecting your kayak equipment, your guide will lead you to the river to begin your exciting Yangshuo adventure!
Leisurely row your way south from Fuli (or paddle faster for a more challenging workout!) and enjoy the beautiful views of the immense mountain range and lush woodlands on either side of the river. As you drift through the less-traveled channel of the river, see local fishermen on bamboo rafts practicing an old-fashioned way of fishing, watch water buffaloes wallowing in the river and eating by the bank, and observe farm animals grazing on the riverside pasture.
If you get tired of paddling, grab hold of the support boat for help moving down the river. After about three hours on the water, disembark in the old fishing village of Puyi. Explore the small town with your guide and discover well-preserved ancient buildings from the Ming and Qing dynasties. If you get hungry, grab a snack (own expense) before boarding the waiting shuttle bus that will take you back to Yangshuo.
