Getting there & away

There are continual rumours of an airport being built at Sāngkē, but for the time being Xiàhé is accessible only by bus. Most travellers head on to either Lánzhōu or Sìchuān; the road less travelled takes you over the mountains to Tóngrén. See the table for details.

If you can’t get a direct ticket to/from Lánzhōu, take a bus to Línxià and change there.
