Getting there & away
You’ll want to make your ascent from the small town of Qīnyǔ (), which sits at the base of the mountain. Buses run from Qīnyǔ to the mountain entrance for Y7. Qīnyǔ is 297km by bus from Fúzhōu (Y80, 2½ hours) and 167km from Wēnzhōu (Y35, 1½ hours) in Zhèjiāng province. The bus ride from Fúzhōu takes you along some terrifying mountain roads, with pin-tight curves and steep drops. Close your eyes and hang on tight. Alternatively (though not author-verified), look for a new one hour train link from Fúzhōu to the mountain.
