Silk Market information
The six-storey Silk Market is wildly popular with package tourists here for fake clothing, bags, electronics and jewellery. It's more upmarket than it once was, namely because many vendors were being hit by lawsuits from top-name brands tired of being counterfeited on such a huge scale. The silk, which you'll find on the 3rd floor, is one of the few genuine items on sale here.
With coach loads of tourists descending on the market daily, effective bargaining is difficult. But this is a good place for cashmere, T-shirts, jeans, shirts, skirts and, of course, silk. There's a food court on the top floor.
