Elegant in parts and popular with tour groups, this refurbished and choicely located hotel has pushed up its prices to reflect its makeover. Business is brisk so the staff are on their toes, but they grab any chance to switch off. The sexually explicit posters in the lobby of massage staff doing their thing send out dodgy messages, but the rooms are spacious, clean, attractively carpeted and bright on the upper floors. You can find the Liyuan Theatre to the right of the domed atrium at the rear of the hotel.
